All purpose, hand held gap filling expanding PU Foam with patented "Genius Gun" application system. Re-usable up to 6 weeks, the Genius Gun applicator enables high precision, single handed use. Ideally suited for the installation of doors and windows, the sealing of pipe penetrations and for the creation of sound-proof sealing, Free of CFC's and HCFC's. Very low emission value once fully cured. Available in aerosol cans of 500ml and 750ml.
Expands to up to 60 times its size!
Composition wise, expanding foam is a mixture of isocyanate and polyol resin that is forced together under pressure. When sprayed, it will expand to up to 60 times it original size, enabling it to fill all gaps and cracks with ease.
Soudal Genius Gun is re-usable for up to 6 weeks after the first application. Simply use the bung supplied in the top cap to block the straw.
Yes, it is suitable for this.
We recommend spraying the substrate with a fine layer of water as the foam needs moisture to cure properly. Benefits of this include:
If the surface isn’t moistened there is a risk of the foam not curing properly and effecting the rate of expansion. The only exception to this is with 2K foam. This type of foam will harden without water because it contains a chemical within that will enable a reaction.
Flammability or the reaction to fire is the way in which a material will react in contact with heat/flames and how it feeds the fire. A foam can range from being low/normal/highly flammable
The flammability class B1/B2/B3 according to DIN 4102 indicates the way that a foam reacts to flames.
Resistance to fire according to EN 13501-2 defines how long a system (eg. wall + joint/penetration) can maintain its function while in contact with heat and flames. This is defined by the following factors:
The valve contains a washer that links the outside of the can to the inside; this is not 100% airtight. If water does manage to get inside, it can react with the isocyanate in the cannister and begin to cure, resulting in a valve blockage. If the product has the ‘Duravalve’ system, there is no problem with storing the can horizontally.
Fresh foam can be removed with a PU cleaner. Cured foam can only be removed mechanically or by using a special cured foam cleaner.
